EIS Vision

EIS aspires to be a place where learning is grounded in real-world relevance, driven by critical thinking and a passion for acquiring new skills, empowering students to navigate an uncertain future with purpose. We envision a school that nurtures curious, resilient, and self-confident individuals who discover and build the skills they need to thrive in an ever-changing world.

We graduate ambitious, solution-oriented students who are as comfortable with technology as they are with critical thinking, and who carry strong multilingual competencies alongside a genuine drive to be their best. Our students are lifelong learners and agents of positive change who act responsibly, lead with purpose and are ready to make a positive difference in the world.

Our distinctive approach combines intentionally small classes with personalised education, ensuring every student is seen, supported, and challenged. By balancing modern and traditional pedagogical methods, and by building a community that feels like a second family, our dedicated staff empowers each student to grow into their very best self.

EIS Mission Statement

Nurturing a caring, globally minded community built on opportunities and support to grow in knowledge and character and to shape an independent future.

EIS Mission

A mission built on opportunity begins with choice: every member of the community is encouraged to explore different paths, weigh ideas, and decide which direction best reflects their ambitions. That freedom only has meaning when it is matched by action, so curiosity is turned into effort, and intentions are followed through into real learning and growth.

Choice and action flourish best when they are supported rather than left to chance, which is why guidance sits at the heart of our community. Experienced mentors and a caring environment help each student navigate decisions, learn from setbacks, and stay anchored to strong values as they grow in knowledge and character.

Shaping an independent future means preparing for a world that rarely stands still, so adaptability is treated as a skill to be developed rather than a trait to be assumed. By learning to adjust, rethink, and respond to new challenges with confidence, every member of the community becomes ready not only for the opportunities of today but for those still to come.

We are committed to:

Developing outstanding international graduates

Foster a thriving international community

Deliver excellence in teaching and learning

Build and sustain an exceptional team

Ensure sustainable growth and excellence

Vision, values & framework

What we believe about learning.

A student-centred, concept-based education built on real-world learning, sensible risk-taking, and learning from mistakes, held together by a shared credo and a clear picture of the learner we develop.

Our promise

Learn. Grow. Become.

Everything we do at IS OWL builds three things at once — academic rigour, character, and the ability to communicate. We don’t trade one off against the others.

Learn.

Subject mastery and rigorous, evidence-based thinking — the academic currency to apply anywhere in the world.

Grow.

Discipline, responsibility and quiet confidence, grown through boarding life, service and sport.

Become.

A multilingual, future-ready young adult who can think on their feet — in more than one language.

Our values and why they matter

At EIS, our CREDO is more than a set of words on a wall. It shapes how we think, act, and treat one another, in the classroom, the boarding house, and the world beyond. These values hold true in every circumstance, in moments of success and of difficulty alike, and they guide our entire school community: students, teachers, boarding staff, and families. Values are the foundation on which real learning and lasting growth are built.

We dare to go further.

Courage

To challenge yourself academical physically and socially.

We own our actions and their impact.

Responsibility

To your learning, your communify, and the wider world.

We strives for the highest standards.

Excellence

In knowledge, character, and communication.

We show up, follow through, and finish strong.

Discipline

In managing time, effort and commitments - in school and in life.

We embrace different ways of thinking.

Openmindedness

To new ideas, cultures, and ways of seeing the world.

Academic Development

Strong values turn ability into achievement. Courage gives students the confidence to take intellectual risks, ask difficult questions, and learn from mistakes rather than fear them. Responsibility means owning their learning and following through on it. Excellence sets the expectation that they strive for the highest standards in knowledge and communication, while Discipline provides the habits to get there: managing time, sustaining effort, and finishing what they start. Open-mindedness keeps them curious, ready to weigh new ideas and revise their thinking. Together these values help our students meet the demands of a rigorous A-Level and German-language pathway and arrive at university ready to succeed independently.

Social Development

Living and learning in an international community calls for more than academic skill. Open-mindedness helps students embrace different ideas, cultures, and ways of seeing the world, building genuine understanding across the many backgrounds represented at EIS. Responsibility teaches them that their actions have an impact on their peers, their community, and the wider world. Courage gives them the strength to speak up, include others, and stand by what is right. Excellence shapes how they communicate and treat one another, and Discipline sustains the everyday reliability that makes shared boarding life work. Together these values create an environment defined by mutual respect, cooperation, and belonging, and prepare students to become thoughtful, engaged global citizens.

Personal Development

Values shape character, and character endures long after exams are over. Courage invites students to challenge themselves physically and socially as well as academically. Discipline builds the resilience and self-management that carry into adult life, while Responsibility fosters the integrity and ownership of a principled individual. Excellence becomes a personal standard for how they grow in character as well as ability, and Open-mindedness keeps them willing to learn about themselves and the world around them. Through the CREDO, students don't simply learn. They grow, and they become.

The CREDO belongs to everyone at EIS. Learn. Grow. Become.
